Introducing the CoinList Seed Spring 2024 Batch

The crypto markets have been on fire in 2024.

With the bull run well underway, the industry is poised for further growth, presenting entrepreneurs with fertile ground to explore new ventures.

At CoinList, we’re incredibly proud to see many CoinList Seed alumni like Injective Protocol, Biconomy, Mystiko, and Rabbithole grow into strong projects over the last few years, and today we’re excited to introduce the Spring 2024 batch of CoinList Seed projects.

What is CoinList Seed?

For those not familiar, we introduced Seed in Spring 2020 as a platform for early-stage crypto entrepreneurs to connect with the global CoinList community. While Seed was originally designed as a private fundraising platform, one common point of feedback we’ve heard from projects is that visibility, not capital, is the most scarce resource for crypto projects. With that insight in mind, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Lattice, an early stage crypto venture fund, and shifted the program away from fundraising towards growth.

CoinList Seed is more selective than Harvard – with over 350 startup applicants for the Spring 2024 Seed batch, the acceptance rate is just under 3%. Selected projects get exposure to CoinList’s community of 10M+ crypto adopters, access to CoinList’s network of founders, discounts on select CoinList products*, hands-on support from Lattice, and much more.

Spring 2024 Batch

Without further ado, we’re proud to introduce the Spring 2024 cohort of CoinList Seed projects:

1. Aarc: Modular layer for unified borderless dApps

Aarc is building the first modular layer for unified, borderless decentralized applications. Aarc’s full-stack, omni-chain solution is designed for EVM developers to bring users and liquidity from any chain without requiring multi-chain deployment, dApps migration, or contract changes. With Aarc, developers can build truly chain-agnostic dApps in less than a week, thanks to four modular, use-case-specific SDKs powered by the Aarc SmartChain.

2. BAXUS: The secure way to trade wine and spirits

BAXUS is a marketplace that enables anyone to buy, trade, and preserve rare and valuable wines and spirits. They provide a personal dashboard for managing your collection with the latest pricing information and a global marketplace of like-minded enthusiasts, providing an unrivaled platform to explore, exchange, and elevate your wine and spirits journey.

3. Earn Alliance: Where every game finds its fans and every fan finds their game

Whether you’re a gamer seeking your next play or a developer eager to find new fans, Earn Alliances’s discovery-based platform is a rewarding experience that drives growth for all through a gamified engagement-as-a-service approach.

4. Grove: Make cashless investments using your illiquid assets

Imagine all your illiquid assets were liquid. Grove begins with early-stage startup equity, a $500 billion asset with an 80% failure rate and limited diversification. Grove then transforms these assets by enabling holders to pool future liquidity, facilitating cashless investments in various startups and, in the future, other assets. These pooled returns are tokenized, producing a tradable index of venture outcomes—the first-ever of its kind.

5. Plato Protocol: Eat out and get paid

Plato is an Eat2Earn platform that rewards users with $FAT Dollars for collecting verified, receipt-backed, user-generated content on restaurants. This data powers "ChatGPT for Food," an AI Connoisseur that is about 10 times more efficient than Google Maps in helping users make decisions on where to eat!

6. Pocket Universe: Web3 fraud detection

Pocket Universe was created to protect you from scam transactions. Pocket Universe is currently protecting 130K weekly active users and their $400m+ in assets (as of the time of this publication). Users get $2k of coverage on each transaction, so if Pocket Universe misses detecting a scam transaction they’ll pay you back. Soon, this limit is anticipated to be much higher. Pocket Universe is the Web3 version of Paypal/Stripe’s fraud detection and chargeback system.

7. Sleepagotchi: NFT-powered sleep game

Sleepagotchi gamifies sleep with NFTs and various web3 incentives. Wake up every day and earn exciting new achievements for your sleep. Complete collections, level up items, and watch your room magically change.

8. Spaces Protocol: Scalable & permissionless identities built on Bitcoin

Spaces is a naming protocol that leverages the existing infrastructure and security of Bitcoin without requiring a new blockchain or any modifications to Bitcoin itself. “Spaces” serve as community identifiers that are distributed through an auction process built using existing Bitcoin scripting capabilities. Proceeds generated through auctions are irrevocably burned. Within each Space, users can create “Subspaces,” which serve as trustless individual identities.

9. Sustainable Bitcoin Protocol: The bridge between climate investors and bitcoin

Bitcoin miners are not currently incentivized to use clean energy, posing a challenge in aligning with the growing demand from institutional investors for environmentally responsible investments. As the energy market evolves, both miners and investors lack a direct mechanism to finance sustainable energy solutions—until now. SBP bridges this gap, making clean energy not just an option, but a sustainable and profitable strategy for the future of Bitcoin mining.

10. Unstable Protocol: The leverage layer of (re)staked ETH

Unstable Protocol utilizes zkOracles to enhance DeFi utility for the Liquid Restaking Token Finance (LRTfi) market. Backed by a number of prominent web3 VCs and angel investors, the protocol enables users to borrow against their LST and LRT collateral and unlock the utility of their (re)staked ETH on L2 chains. Unstable’s lending protocol engine is powered by zkSNARK-based validator and EigenLayer AVS balance proofs.

11. Watches.io: The first end-to-end trading & tracking ecosystem for luxury watches

Watches.io has developed a comprehensive universal watch market tracker, offering real-time price data for all models from renowned brands like Rolex and Patek Philippe, as well as 140+ others. This data can be placed on-chain through a Watches.io enterprise API. Recently, the platform has expanded to include features such as a watch trading Marketplace, providing a traditional e-commerce experience while leveraging Web3 infrastructure for reduced fees, quicker payouts, and enhanced user experience.
